2013 UND Honor Band & Choir

LHS Students Attend UND Festival

Two students from Lakota High School recently attended the 2013 UND Honor Band and Choir Festival.  Selected by live auditions, Morgan Uriell was selected to the UND Women’s Honor Choir and Morgan Matecjek was selected to the UND Honor Band.  

Auditions were conducted in late October, extending throughout the entire state of ND and regions of western Minnesota.  Selected students gathered on the UND campus January 18^th – 20^th for two intense days of rehearsals, with final dress rehearsals and the concert on Sunday, January 20^th.  For many, the concert repertoire is among the most difficult they will ever encounter in their high school career.  

Combined UND Honor Band, Women's Honor Choir and Mixed Honor Choir

The final concert was performed on the stage of the Chester Fritz auditorium to an audience of around 1,800 people. Ensembles performing were the Women’s Honor Choir, Honor Band and Mixed Honor Choir; followed by a combined number performed by all 350 musicians in all three ensembles. Congratulations to Morgan and Morgan for being selected and participating in this year's UND Honor Band and Choir Festival.
